A Look Inside My Skincare Cupboard

Take a peak inside my skincare cupboard and see which products I love & use everyday…

Skincare is the first and last step of my day most days; it’s how I get my skin ready for the day ahead, and help it repair after the day it’s had. Skincare is also something that in recent years I have become very passionate about, if I’m not physically trying out a new product I am reading and researching ingredients and other products to try

It’s no wonder so, that my skincare cupboard is pretty much bursting at the seams with product and it wouldn’t be an over-exaggeration to say that on more than one occasion things have fallen out when I open it. I do my best though, to keep products on a rotation, so that the shelves of my cupboards aren’t too cluttered and that only the skincare that suits my skins needs season by season is on hand.

Today I am giving you a peak inside my skincare cupboard and sharing with you some of the new things that are on it’s shelves, some of the products that I am never without and some of the products that are currently on my skincare Wishlist (or should I say shopping list).

I will also be sharing with you one of my favourite skincare brand discoveries of the year and best budget skincare I have come across so far: Deciem’s The Ordinary; I’m sure you’ve already heard and read much about the brand, but I’ll be sharing with you my top product picks.

So, let’s take a look inside my skincare cupboard…

There have been quite a few new additions to my skincare collection as of late; two-thousand-and-seventeen as a whole was a year of lots of amazing skincare product launches, and many of them found their way into my cupboard.

One of my most recent purchases was Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate; it’s one of the richest facial oils I have tried yet, so much so that you only ever need one or two drops of it. I prefer to mix it into my night-cream rather than applying it directly as I find it absorbs much better and has better results on the appearance of the skin. What you’ve read is true though, this product really is a skincare wonder in a bottle.

Another brand that is a new discovery only since moving to Italy is Robert’s Rose Water; I am already on my second jar of the Revitalising Face Cream with Vitamin E and last month also bought their eye cream which contains caffeine to help reduce the appearance of under-eye circles and puffiness, and for only €12 is actually one of the best eye creams I tried this year. The scent of rose from the rose water in all their products is probably not for everyone, but I personally love it.

Finally, one of my favourite skincare brand discoveries from this year was Deciem’s The Ordinary; this brand is making high-end skincare products and ingredients affordable and available to everyone. Retinols and retinoids were probably the most talked about skincare ingredients of two-thousand-and-seventeen, found only in luxury serums and facial oils with big price tags until The Ordinary’s Retinoid Solution hit the internet. While that is probably the product that made the brand a household name, there are a few more products worth noting from the brand such as the Peeling Solution, Caffeine Solution and their Serum Foundation.

If you asked me to pick my favourite and most highly recommend skincare brand, two would come to mind and I really wouldn’t be able to chose a preference between the both of them: REN Clean Skincare and Clinique

It’s been nearly two years or more now that I have been using Clinique products as part of my daily skincare routine, I use at least one product from their 3-Step range everyday. If I was to try and pick a favourite from my Clinique products it would be a draw between the Clarifying Lotion and the Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief Moisturiser; both of these are products that I have purchased more than once and absolutely love.

REN Skincare is such an amazing skincare brand, every new product they release is better than the last; skincare science is at the core of what they do, developing products from a blend of active ingredients that really work to make a difference in the overall health and appearance of your skin. I am currently loving trying out some of their products that a not for facial skincare, such as the Atlantic Kelp Anti-Fatigue Toning Body Oil and Bath Oil; these two smell like a spa in a bottle and leave your skin incredibly soft, perfect for this time of year. If I had to pick a favourite REN product, then I would go for the Flash Hydro-Boost Instant Plumping Emulsion, which I am actually currently out of of but is such an amazing product.

I will definitely be putting in an order on Deciem’s website before the year is out to replace some of my The Ordinary empties and to try out some of their products that I haven’t yet such as the Vitamin C Suspension and the new L-Ascorbic Acid Powder once it’s released.

Following the success of the Midnight Recovery Concentrate I am eager to try some other products from Kiehl’s; I am interested to see if the Daily Reviving Concentrate is as good as the night oil and am very curious about the Powerful Strength Line Reducing Concentrate and Eye Concentrate.

Finally a brand that I have heard a lot of good things about but haven’t had a chance to experience yet myself is Caudalie; their Beauty Elixir always receives great reviews, and I do love a good face mist heading into Spring/Summer. I would also love to try their Cleansing Oil, Glycolic Peel Mask and Vinoperfect Radiance Serum.. just to name a few!
