“Align yourself with people you can learn from, people who want more out of life, people who are stretching and searching and seeking some higher ground in life” – Les Brown
The world of the internet and social media has given a voice to real people, it has taken away some of the spotlight from the false reality of celebrity life, and shone it on real people who we can all take inspiration from. It has created strong female role-models for young women all over the world, and raised topics, started conversations and created movements that are connecting people from all different walks of life.
We all need someone to inspire us, a mentor to look up to and to remind us that we can do more with our lives than what we have done so far, someone to push us to push ourselves. For me, blogging was a refuge from the everyday stresses and strains of being an independent adult leaving in London; by reading and watching these amazing women, I started to feel the need to make an impact of my own. By continuing to follow these inspiring women, I am pushed and encouraged to keep going and to follow my own creative dreams. These are the women that inspired me to start blogging, and inspire me to continue doing so.
Victoria and her blog are an inspiration because of her success story and her utter ladylike professionalism. It’s no wonder that some of the top luxury brands in fashion and beauty are lining up to collaborate with this woman; she treats blogging like a business and has grown InTheFrow to a brand in it’s own right. The design of her blog, the content she creates and the posts that she write are continuously of a high quality and always inspirational.
Zoella is known the world round and has built a successful business from her blog and YouTube channel, probably one of the most successful business to grow from a YouTube channel yet. She has set the benchmark for everyone who wishes to follow in her and this sweet and cheerful girl we all can’t help but tune into is really a strong woman with a sharp head for business on her shoulders. Zoe is an inspiration for me because regardless of how many millions of subscribers and followers she now has, she continues to remain humble and appreciative; she never forgets her fans and goes above and beyond to battle her anxiety to be with them.
Teni’s channel was one of the first that I ever subscribed too when I really started to get into beauty bloggers and vloggers; she always comes across as a real and down to earth person and has no problem sharing her life from the comfort of her fluffy robe in her living room. Teni recently bought and refurbished a home for her mother, to give her the life that she didn’t have herself when she first moved to the States; she has a huge heart and is the kind of person that I just love to seeing growing and becoming more successful.
They say great things come in small packages, and this pint-sized style guru is proof of that pudding! Amiee runs a successful blog, interior design company, YouTube channel and an Instagram account that is so adored it inspired a book, Capture Your Style. When the cameras are on this girl is all about laughter and enjoying life (as well as avocado toast), but it’s clear from her success that behind it all is a focused and driven women who is inspiring so many with her creative flare for life, interiors and style.
If I had to describe Julia Engels blog, Gal Meets Glam, in one word it would be perfection. Julia is someone I look up to because unlike so many others she has built her brand on her blog alone without a YouTube channel. While I love to watch YouTube and follow the lives of those who vlog, Julia’s blog reminds me that you don’t have to have a YouTube channel in order for your blog to become a success; if you’re good at what you do, and she really is, then people will want to follow what you are doing.
