JUNE FAVOURITES

The heat is on!

June was a month that saw temperatures hitting over 32℃ here in London, an unbearable heat in a city that is built for wet weather and only the occasional sunny spell. All of a sudden it was time to whip out the flip-flops, shorts and summer dresses, which also meant pedicures and fake tan were required too!

If I’m completely honest my top June favourite this month was probably my electric fan, that was on constantly in my flat, but probably not making a huge difference. Anything that helped keep my cool, or at the very least looking cool, was at the top of my list this month, from suncreams to long wear eyeliner and lipsticks.

June was a busy month too; myself and Giovanni are in the middle of planning and organising something very exciting for July, however the stress of the organisation combined with the heat got to me some days and I am disappointed to say that I did not always keep to my Monday, Wednesday, Friday posting schedule here on La Bella. However, bear with me a little longer as I have some exciting new content planned for the month of July and have been working an a little (well not so little) project behind the scenes that has been eating into some of my usual editing and writing time; watch this space… Also if you haven’t already, be sure to subscribe to my newsletter so that you can stay up-to-date with post as well as receive extra content!

Clinique Moisture Surge Hydrating Supercharge Concentrate

I love anything Clinique, but this serum is an extra treat for dehydrated skin. I have been keeping this serum in my fridge over the past month and enjoying the cooling and soothing effects when applied to clean skin both in the morning and evenings. It’s great to take down puffy eyes and to plump fine lines; you can read my full review on both the his & hers versions of this serum here.

L’oreal Sublime Bronze Overnight Elixir

False tan is something I always approach with caution and always dread that it will go wrong, however L’oreal’s Sublime Bronze Overnight Elixir couldn’t be any easier and foolproof to use. It’s the first tanning product that I have ever used that doesn’t smell bad even after sleeping in it all night, in fact it has a lovely fresh summery scent. The serum is enhanced with Hyaluronic Acid to not only give you bronzed skin overnight but to boost your skins hydration. It washes off easily in the morning and lasts for up to 2 weeks when you apply for 3 consecutive nights.

Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue EDT

Smell like summer in Capri with this gorgeous light and fresh citrus scent, I have nearly used a full bottle already in just one month!

Bobbi Brown Illuminating Bronzer in Santa Barbara

This compact powder is a bronzer, blush and highlight all in one; it gives a very subtle glow, perfect for everyday wear, while also giving a sun kissed blush of colour to the skin. It would be perfect for travel as it is a 3-in-1 wonder.

Estée Lauder Pure Colour Love Lipsticks

I know I already featured the Pure Colour Love lipsticks in my May Favourites but since then I purchased two more shades, Crazy Beautiful and Hot Rumor and I just can’t get enough of them! Such gorgeous lipsticks and so pretty too.

Estée Lauder The Illuminator Primer & Finisher

Want to add an extra touch of glow to your make-up but don’t want to invest in a new glowy foundation? Then The Illuminator Perfecting Primer & Finisher is the perfect product for you. I have absolutely loved including this product in my beauty routine; somedays I apply it directly to my skin over my moisturiser for a no-make glowy look, other days I mix a drop into my favourite matte foundation to give it a summery dewy finish.

Natural World Brazilian Keratin Smoothing Therapy Hair Oil

I battle with my frizzy hair on a daily basis, and now that it is longer, the frizz is harder to tame. World Natural Brazilian Keratin Oil is such a wonder product, I have been using it for a while now and don’t know how I would go back to drying my hair without it. Once I apply this oil and comb it through after a shower, I can let my hair dry naturally; now, it still doesn’t naturally dry straight, but it doesn’t dry mad frizzy either and if I want to straighten it later, this oil makes the job so much easier.

So…? Rose Petals Body Mist

Rose is one of my favourite scents and this soft musky rose scented body mist by So…? Fragrances has been my favourite for freshening up in the month of June.

OPI Nail Polish

I gave OPI polishes a go once before a few years ago and was a little disappointed with them in comparison to Essie polishes, however I have learned that when paired with an OPI topcoat, OPI polishes are pretty good in the chip resistance department and have been loving their bright reds all June.

Clinique Fragrance Free Suncream

June was a hot, hot month, and with heat comes sunshine, and with sunshine comes sunburn, unless you protect your skin. I love Clinique suncreams because they are fragrance free and act and feel like a body lotion so you don’t feel sticky in the sun but are still protected.
